Patient Rights

The fundamental rights of our patients and our responsibilities.

Patient rights are the fundamental provisions observed so that individuals receiving healthcare services are cared for in a manner befitting human dignity. At Ankara Cerrahi Private Medical Center, we uphold all patient rights within the framework of the Patient Rights Regulation, which entered into force on 01.08.1998 through the Turkish Ministry of Health.

Right to Access Services in General

Our patients have the right to benefit from healthcare services within the principles of fairness and equity, without discrimination based on race, language, religion, sect, gender, political view, philosophical belief, or economic and social status.

Right to Information

Our patients have the right to receive information — in a way they can understand — about their health condition, the likely course of the illness, recommended medical procedures, their possible risks and alternative treatment methods. All information about healthcare services and facilities is conveyed to the patient or their legal representative.

Right to Choose the Healthcare Institution and Personnel

Our patients have the right to identify, choose and change the personnel who will provide their care at our center. Knowing the physician and team leading the treatment and, where necessary, requesting a second opinion, are among the fundamental rights.

Right to Privacy

All medical evaluations are carried out in suitable physical environments with due regard for patient privacy. Sensitivity to privacy is preserved throughout testing, diagnosis and treatment. Patient information is not shared with third parties except where required by law.

Right to Consent

No medical or experimental procedure may be performed without the consent of the patient or their legal representative. The patient has the right to refuse a planned procedure or request that it be stopped. In such cases, the possible consequences are explained to the patient in an understandable manner.

Right to Receive Services in a Safe Environment

Our center is committed to providing services in an environment that is physically secure, regularly maintained and subject to infection-control protocols. Our medical devices are included in periodic calibration programs.

Right to Fulfill Religious Obligations

Our patients may fulfill their religious obligations to the extent that the conditions of our center and their medical state permit. Guidance and support are provided as needed.

Right to Respect for Human Values

Our patients have the right to expect service delivered with a friendly, polite, compassionate and respectful attitude, in a clean environment where all hygienic conditions are observed.

Right to Visits and to Have a Companion

Within the rules and procedures defined by our center, our patients may receive visitors and, to the extent permitted by legislation and our center's procedures, have a companion with them.

Right to Apply, Complain and Seek Legal Remedy

When our patients believe their rights have been violated, they may apply to our center in writing or verbally. Every application is recorded, evaluated by the relevant units and responded to within a reasonable time. Applying to the relevant public authorities and seeking legal remedies remains open at all times.

Patient Responsibilities

Quality healthcare requires mutual cooperation. We expect our patients to act sensitively in the following matters:

  • Providing accurate and complete information about their health condition, the medications they use and their past treatments
  • Arriving on time for their appointments and informing us in advance if they cannot attend
  • Following the recommended treatment, and informing the relevant physician if they cannot
  • Maintaining respectful communication with other patients and staff
  • Complying with the center's rules and practices
  • Fulfilling their payment obligations on time
